GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - Tomas Nosek scored twice in the first period, including once on the power play, as the Grand Rapids Griffins held on to beat the Toronto Marlies 5-4 in Game 4 of their American Hockey League first-round series on Saturday night.

The win ties the best-of-five matchup 2-2, with Game 5 going Sunday in Grand Rapids.

Andreas Athanasiou, Teemu Pulkkinen and Tyler Bertuzzi opened the third period with three straight goals for the Griffins.

Matt Frattin started the scoring 46 seconds into the first period for Toronto. Matt Rupert added a goal in the second while T.J. Brennan and Brendan Mikkelson chipped in late in the third.

Tom McCollum made 28 saves for the win as Christopher Gibson stopped 22 shots in defeat.

Grand Rapids scored twice on four power-play opportunities. The Marlies were scoreless on five chances.
