Montreal Canadiens forward Alex Galchenyuk left Sunday's game against the Los Angeles Kings with a lower-body injury after an inadvertent knee-on-knee collision with Anze Kopitar in the third period.

The 22-year-old left under his own power shortly after and did not return to action.

Head coach Michel Therrien did not provide an update after the game.

Galchenyuk has nine goals and 14 assists over 25 games this season, his fifth with the Habs.

The Canadiens beat the Kings 5-4 in a shootout.
