The Montreal Canadiens assigned David Schlemko to the AHL's Laval Rocket on a conditioning stint.
Schlemko has yet to play a game for the Habs this season due to a hand injury, which has kept him out since the start of training camp.
The 30-year-old played a conditioning game with the Rocket last month, grabbing one assist and a plus-2 rating for the Rocket. However, the team then announced he would need surgery to remove a bone fragment in his right hand.
The Vegas Golden Knights claimed the defenceman from the San Jose Sharks in last year's expansion draft and then flipped Schlemko in exchange for a 2019 fifth-round pick from the Canadiens.
Last season, Schlemko had two goals and 16 assists in 62 games played for the Sharks.
