J.A. Happ got more work than any other Toronto Blue Jays pitcher this spring in Monday's game against the Red Sox, a game Boston ended up winning 6-4.

Happ, who pitched 4.2 innings and threw 70 pitches, allowed four earned runs on seven hits, including a pair of home runs by switch-hitting catcher Sandy Leon. He struck out four on the day.

Kevin Pillar had a good day at the plate, going 3-for-3 against the Red Sox. His average this spring now sits at .520 (13-for-25), with impressive numbers including five extra-base hits, two walks and only one strikeout.

Blue Jays outfield prospect Roemon Fields, who has seven hits in 17 at-bats this spring, made a highlight-reel diving grab to end the top of the eighth inning.

Injuries

Outfielder Randal Grichuk is battling rib cage soreness, while oft-injured fellow outfielder Dalton Pompey has a right wrist issue that will require him to rest for a couple of days.

Manager John Gibbons informed the media that Marcus Stroman, who has been sidelined for two weeks with shoulder inflammation, will not be available to pitch on Opening Day versus the New York Yankees. Stroman threw Monday, and if all goes well, he could face hitters Saturday in either a simulated game or live batting practice.
