The Atlanta Hawks are denying a report published on Wednesday stating that the team had parted ways with general manager Wes Wilcox. Jeff Goodman and Marc J. Spears of ESPN first reported the alleged part between Wilcox and the Hawks.

The Hawks released the following statement via the Atlanta Journal-Constitution: "Hawks leadership is undergoing a period of evaluation and looking at how basketball operations works best. There are no changes to report at this time and any reports indicating otherwise are inaccurate.”

The AJC cites several high-ranking team officials who say they were unaware of such a personnel move.

Wilcox was promoted from assistant GM after Danny Ferry resigned from the position following backlash from controversial comments he made about current Los Angeles Laker Luol Deng.

The Hawks have gone a combined 91-73 under Wilcox the past two seasons. In his first season, the team reached the Eastern Conference semifinals, but were bounced from the playoffs this season in the first round by the Washington Wizards.
