MIAMI — The Miami Heat have signed a three-year sponsorship deal with Ultimate Software, which will have its logo on the team's jerseys starting this season.

The Heat were the 15th NBA team to strike a jersey sponsorship deal. This is the first season where the league is permitting teams to have small logo patches on their uniforms.

Ultimate Software also becomes the official human resources and payroll provider for the team as part of the deal. The company is based in Weston, Fla., not far from downtown Miami.

Ultimate Software will also sponsor some of the Heat charitable initiatives. The company and the team both also pledged an additional $1 million in Hurricane Irma relief Thursday, while announcing the sponsor deal.
