STUTTGART, Germany - Relegation candidate Hertha Berlin ground out a scoreless draw at Stuttgart that left the home side mired at the bottom of the Bundesliga on Friday.

Stuttgart goalkeeper Sven Ulreich needed to produce a top save to deny Valentin Stocker in the 26th minute.

There was little going forward from either side until Stuttgart defender Daniel Schwaab forced a good save from Thomas Kraft in the 71st, 10 minutes before Nico Schulz missed the best chance of the game after Salomon Kalou set him up at the other end.

Kraft went off with suspected concussion after a late collision.

Schulz was sent off with his second yellow card for a tactical foul in the seventh minute of injury time.

Stuttgart was four points from safety ahead of the rest of the weekend's games.
