TORONTO -- Brett Hickey and Kasey Beirnes each had a hat trick as the Toronto Rock held on to beat the Calgary Roughnecks 12-11 on Saturday night in National Lacrosse League action. Rob Hellyer led Toronto (4-1) with seven points, including a pair of goals. Brock Sorensen, Stephan Leblanc, Josh Sanderson and Damon Edwards also scored.

Shawn Evans had a 10-point night for the Roughnecks (0-4) with four goals and six assists. Curtis Dickson scored a hat trick with Dane Dobbie adding two of his own. Jeff Shattler and Peter McFetridge also chipped in for Calgary, which had four fourth-quarter goals.

Brandon Miller got the win in net, turning away 46 shots while Frankie Scigliano made 30 saves in the loss.

The Rock went 2 for 3 on the power play while the Roughnecks converted three times on six opportunities.
