FRANKFURT - Klaas-Jan Huntelaar first-half goal was enough to secure Schalke a 1-0 win over Augsburg in the Bundesliga on Friday.

Atsuto Uchida set up the goal with a remarkable run. After Augsburg lost the ball in Schalke's half, Uchida picked it up and ran down the right flank before sending in a low cross that Huntelaar converted from close range in the 37th minute.

Uchida proved effective at both ends, halting a late attack by the visitors as they looked to equalize through Tobias Werner.

That defeat was Augsburg's fourth straight loss away from home.

Schalke lost German forward Julian Draxler in the opening minutes of the game after he limped off the field with a suspected right hamstring injury.
