Goalie Mike Smith has been sent back to Arizona to consult with team doctors after he suffered a lower-body injury in the third period Tuesday night in a loss to the Ottawa Senators. He is still listed as day-to-day. The Coyotes are in Montreal to play the Habs Thursday. - Sarah McLellan, Azcentral Sports

Forward Patrice Bergeron will make his season debut Thursday night when the Bruins host the New Jersey Devils. He has missed the first three games of the season due to an upper-body injury. In other news, rookie forward Austin Czarnik has been assigned to the AHL. - Team Tweet

It appears Peter Budaj will start for the Kings when they battle the Stars in Dallas Thursday. Budaj is helping to replace injured goalie Jonathan Quick who will likely miss the next three months with a lower-body injury. Pittsburgh Penguins

Sidney Crosby (concussion) was absent from practice Thursday. Kris Letang and Conor Sheary will both miss the game against the San Jose Sharks. - Team Tweet

 

Ottawa Senators

Forward Clarke MacArthur (concussion) will likely travel with the team on their upcoming three-game Western Canada road trip. He suffered the concussion when rookie defenceman Patrick Sieloff him into the boards during a preseason practice.  MacArthur, 31, had concussion issues last season as well and only managed to play in four contests. He is currently in the second year of a five-year, $23.25 million contract. - Ken Warren, Ottawa Citizen
