Jack Eichel finished Monday's game versus the Capitals despite appearing to hurt his left leg in a second-period tangle with Capitals D Orlov. Following Tuesday's practice, Eichel said he was fit to play tonight against Connor McDavid and the Edmonton Oilers. It was Eichel's fourth game back from a high ankle sprain in the same leg that forced him to miss two months. - The Buffalo News

 


FLORIDA PANTHERS

Head coach and general manager Tom Rowe said Tuesday defenceman Keith Yandle will be "out for a while" after sustaining a lower-body injury on Monday night against the Boston Bruins.

 

OTTAWA SENATORS

Curtis Lazar left Monday nights game against the Penguins with an upper-body injury and did not return. On Tuesday, the club recalled forward Phil Varone from Binghamton of the AHL. TSN's Darren Dreger reports it doesn't sound like Lazar's injury is considered to be serious.

Goaltender Craig Anderson is not accompanying the team to California. He has been dealing with his wife’s treatment for cancer. The Senators recalled netminder Andrew Hammond on Tuesday.

 

TORONTO MAPLE LEAFS

Nazem Kadri didn't practice Tuesday due to feeling under the weather. The Leafs host Minnesota on Wednesday. - @kristen_shilton


Jhonas Enroth cleared waivers on Tuesday and has been demoted to the minors. Antoine Bibeau has been called up by Toronto and will serve as Frederik Andersen's backup. - AHL.com

Jonathan Toews (back) is expected to stay off the ice for another few days. Coach Joel Quenneville is optimistic that Toews will be available to play next week when Chicago visits New York. - Chicago Sun-Times

The Blackhawks placed goaltender Corey Crawford on Injured Reserve, retroactive to Dec. 3. Crawford has posted a 12-6-2 record in 20 games played this season with a 2.27 goals-against average, .927 save percentage and two shutouts. - Team Release
