Buffalo Sabres

Centre Jack Eichel did not appear on the team's injury report ahead of Saturday's matinee with the Chicago Blackhawks, indicating that he will return.

Eichel, 21, has missed the past 15 games with a high-ankle sprain.

Montreal Canadiens

Head coach Claude Julien confirms that Michael McCarron will play tonight against the Leafs, but no word yet on whose spot he'll be taking.

The 23-year-old native of Grosse Pointe, MI has appeared in eight games this season and is yet to register a point.

Toronto Maple Leafs

Auston Matthews' return to the lineup appears to be on the horizon, but not immediate.

The 20-year-old centre was out of the non-contact red jersey at the Leafs' morning skate on Saturday for the first time since he returned to the ice from his injury, yet he still won't play on Saturday night.

Matthews has been out of the Leafs' lineup since a February 22 game against the New York Islanders in which he incurred a shoulder injury. He's missed the last eight games.

Nikita Zaitsev, Frederik Andersen and Leo Komarov were all absent from the skate ahead of Saturday night's game with the Montreal Canadiens and the trio will not dress.

New Jersey Devils

Patrick Maroon is questionable for the Devils game with the Los Angeles Kings on Saturday afternoon.

Coach John Hynes gave him Friday off as a maintenance day as the 29-year-old winger is day-to-day with a lower-body injury.

In seven games since joining the Devils from the Edmonton Oilers in a deadline deal, Maroon has a goal and five assists.
