Montreal Canadiens

Defenceman Alexei Emelin will be a healthy scratch for tonight's game with the Ottawa Senators.

In 67 games this season, Emelin has averaged 21:30 a night of ice time.

Ottawa Senators

Here are the Ottawa Senators lines at their morning skate prior to Saturday's game with the Montreal Canadiens:

Defenceman Mark Borowiecki could return to the lineup after missing four straight with a shoulder injury.

A decision on a starter has not been made, according to Guy Boucher.

Though Borowiecki is close, Mark Stone is not, says the coach. Boucher says the 24-year-old forward has not even resumed skating.

Stone has been out since incurring a lower-body injury in a game against the Arizona Coyotes on March 9. He has 22 goals and 28 assists this season.

Toronto Maple Leafs

James van Riemsdyk was absent from a public morning skate ahead of the evening's game with the Chicago Blackhawks.

In his absence, Josh Leivo and Eric Fehr took turns in his spot on a line with Tyler Bozak and Mitch Marner.

But van Riemsdyk will play tonight, according to Mike Babcock.

Connor Carrick took part in the skate as an eighth defenceman. He's been out since February 21 with an upper-body injury.

Boston Bruins

Forward Matt Beleskey, who took a puck to head late in Thursday's game against the Edmonton Oilers, took to Twitter to give an update on his injury. The 28-year-old said he was "doing alright," but admitted it was a "scary moment." It is not known if he'll be able to play Monday against the Toronto Maple Leafs. -  Matt Beleskey, Bruins

Washington Capitals 

Tom Wilson taped up his left thumb for Friday's practice after getting into a fight with Austin Watson of the Nashville Predators on Thursday. The 22-year-old, who has 16 points over 70 games this season, should be ready to go for Saturday's game against the Tamps Bay Lightning. - J.J. Regan, CSN Mid-Atlantic

Tampa Bay Lightning

Bolts called up winger Joel Vermin from the American Hockey League to help out with the slew of forwards that have gone down the injuries over the past week or so. The 25-year-old has three assists over 11 games with Tampa this season and has netted 12 goals with 16 assists in the AHL. - Joe Smith, Tampa Bay Times

Andrei Vasilevskiy, cooled off by the Toronto Maple Leafs on Thursday, returns to the net tonight at home to the Washington Capitals. He's 6-1-1 in his last eight starts.

Chicago Blackhawks

After receiving praise this morning from Mike Babcock, Marian Hossa won't be playing against his old coach tonight. The 'Hawks announced that he's out with a lower-body injury.

In 64 games this season, the 38-year-old Hossa has 22 goals and 17 assists.

Corey Crawford (28-15-3, 2.53 GAA, .920 SV%) gets the call in goal against the Leafs.

Winnipeg Jets

Along with news that Shawn Matthias will be out for the season with labrum surgery scheduled, there were other injury updates on the Jets on Saturday concerning the team's defence.

With Paul Postma day-to-day with a lower-body injury, Brian Strait has been recalled from the AHL's Manitoba Moose. Strait appeared in 52 games for the Islanders last season.

Toby Enstrom - out since a hit from behind last week from Tom Sestito of the Pittsburgh Penguins - has not resumed skating.

Tyler Myers - out since November 11 with a lower-body injury - continues to progress with the next goal being skating on consecutive days.

Jacob Trouba's upper-body injury will require at least another week of rehab before he resumes skating. - Brian Munz

Vancouver Canucks

The team overhauled its forward lines at morning skate ahead of a game with the Edmonton Oilers on Saturday.

Michael Chaput slotted in with the Sedins, while Markus Granlund joined a line with Sven Baertschi and Bo Horvat. The bottom two lines were also shaken up with Brandon Sutter skating in between Reid Boucher and Joseph Cramarossa and Drew Shore centering the fourth line with Jayson Megna and Joe Labate.

Richard Bachman (1-0, 1.00 GAA, .977 SV%) gets the call in net.
