Arizona Coyotes

Assign defenceman Zbynek Michalek to American Hockey League.

Calgary Flames

The team signed former first round pick Tom McCollum on Monday. The 26-year-old goalie played in 30 games with the AHL's Grand Rapids Griffins last season, posting a 15-13 record with a 2.42 GAA. He was originally selected by the Red Wings in 2008, appearing in a total of three games with the big club. McCollum has cleared waivers and been assigned to the AHL's Stockton Heat.

Montreal Canadiens

Carey Price made his return to the ice Monday morning after being sidelined with the flu and a fever for the first two games of the season. Price did a light workout for a half hour, but returned to the dressing room once everybody else started practicing. His status is day-to-day.  He was placed on the injured reserve Friday, making him unavailable for the weekend. Backup Al Montoya has been strong in Price's absence, picking up a win and a shootout loss. Montreal plays the Pittsburgh Penguins Tuesday night at the Bell Centre and Montoya will once again be between the pipes. - TSN's Frank Seravalli and John Lu
