Senators captain Erik Karlsson will miss his second consecutive game Saturday night with a lower-body injury. However, general manager Pierre Dorion said Karlsson would be in the lineup if it was a playoff game. Montreal Canadiens

With the Tampa Bay Lightning battling for their playoff lives, the Habs will go with Carey Price between the pipes Friday night in a game the Bolts must win. Tampa and the New York Islanders are three points behind the Toronto Maple Leafs for the second Wild Card Spot in the Eastern Conference. Each team has two games remaining. The 29-year-old Price is 37-19-5 with a 2.20 goals-against average and a 0.924 save percentage. - Chantal Machabee, RDS

In other news, defenceman Shea Weber (lower-body) and Jordie Benn (upper-body) will both be ready to go for Game 1 of their playoff series against the New York Rangers next week. Weber won't play tomorrow against the Red Wings, but will take part in practice on Monday. Benn, on the other hand, might be ready to go Saturday. Defenceman Alexei Emelin will not play the rest of the regular season after suffering a lower-body injury against the Buffalo Sabres Wednesday and will be reevaluated sometime over the next few days. - John Lu, TSN

Rookie star Auston Matthews, who took a hard knee-on-knee hit from Lightning defenceman Jake Dotchin on Thursday, said he was feeling a "little sore" on Friday, but will be ready to go for the final two games of the season this weekend. - Mark Masters, TSN

Forward Torey Krug was not at practice Friday after leaving Thursday's game against the Ottawa Senators with a lower-body injury. Krug and centre Noel Acciari (upper-body) are day-to-day and will not play in the season finale against the Washington Capitals Saturday afternoon. - Team Tweet

 

Buffalo Sabres

The team had no update on Kyle Okposo, who is in the hospital.

Markus Foligno will not again this season, he has a 7-10 day recovery timeline for an injury.

 

Winnipeg Jets 

The team signed forward Jansen Harkins to a three-year entry level contract. The 19-year-old was selected in the second-round of the 2015 NHL Entry Draft by the Jets and has 72 points in 64 games with the WHL's Prince George Cougars this season. Harkins has an amateur tryout contract with the Manitoba Moose of the AHL for the rest of this season. - Team Release

Chicago Blackhawks

Defenceman Michal Rozsival and forward Andrew Desjardins suffered injuries in Chicago's 4-0 loss to the Anaheim Ducks Thursday.
