T.J. Brodie was on the ice Friday morning and will be in the lineup tonight. Brodie left the Flames' last game against Carolina after blocking a shot in the second period. Brodie said the puck hit him in the right spot but it wasn't as serious as initially thought. - TSN

Jason Spezza suffered an upper-body injury Thursday night. It was originally reported as a lower-body ailment. "It looks like a little bit of time," coach Lindy Ruff said when asked about the length of the injury. "I'm going to say it's more than a few days." - Dallas Morning News
 

Detroit Red Wings

Niklas Kronwall (knee) hopes to be back skating this weekend or early next week. He isn't able to come off the injured list until Feb. 14, but he may be able to return shortly after that. - Detroit News
 

Montreal Canadiens

Goaltender Carey Price has been out of action since late November with a lower-body injury, but on Friday morning he was doing light skating while stickhandling with a glove and blocker. - TSN
 

Nashiville Predators

Forward Gabriel Bourque (undisclosed) has missed 30 consecutive games, but appears to be getting closer to being available. He skated with teammates again on Thursday but it's uncertain when he'll return. - The Nashville Tennessean

Tampa Bay Lightning

Cedric Paquette had to leave the ice at Thursday's practice after blocking a shot, but he was able to return. He said he was struck near his shin pad, but he felt fine afterward and should be in the lineup for Friday's game against Pittsburgh. - Tampa Tribune

 

Vancouver Canucks

The Canucks practiced without Yannick Weber and Alexander Edler on Friday. Weber had been placed on waivers, while Edler was at the rink and likely taking a maintenance day. This season, Weber was healthy scratched 15 times before being placed on waivers. - TSN
