Cleveland, OH (SportsNetwork.com) - The Cleveland Indians signed right-handed pitcher Gavin Floyd to a one-year contract on Tuesday.

Floyd, 31, started nine games for the Atlanta Braves this past season, going 2-2 with a 2.65 ERA and 45 strikeouts in 54 1/3 innings before suffering a fractured elbow in June.

He returned to the mound after having Tommy John surgery in May 2013 during his seventh season with the Chicago White Sox.

Floyd is 72-72 in 11 seasons for the Phillies, White Sox and Braves with a 4.40 ERA in 208 games, including 196 starts. He was 62-56 with a 4.12 ERA in 154 games between 2008-12.
