JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Jacksonville Jaguars have signed free agent tight end Mychal Rivera to a two-year contract.

Rivera spent the first four years of his NFL career in Oakland, where he caught 146 passes for 1,413 yards and 10 touchdowns in 61 games.

A sixth-round draft pick from Tennessee in 2013, Rivera had 38 receptions for 407 yards and four touchdowns as a rookie. The Valencia, California, native was even better in 2014, catching 58 passes for 534 yards and four scores. Rivera's production dipped the last two years.

Rivera says being in Jacksonville "is just an incredible opportunity."

He is expected to compete for playing time with veteran Marcedes Lewis, Ben Koyack and Neal Sterling. Rivera says he will line up "all over the place catching a lot of balls."
