Toronto Blue Jays second baseman Devon Travis will have exploratory surgery on his left shoulder that will officially end his season, according to manager John Gibbons.

Travis has been on the disabled list since July 29 after injuring his shoulder while swinging through a pitch in a game against the Philadelphia Phillies.

In 62 games this season, the 24-year-old hit .304 with eight home runs and 35 RBIs.
