Alex Anthopoulos's trading spree doesn't appear to be over.

The Toronto Blue Jays announced on Saturday that it had acquired infielder Cliff Pennington and cash considerations from the Arizona Diamondbacks for minor-league shortstop Dawel Lugo.

Pennington, 31, is in his eighth major league season and his third with the Diamondbacks.

The Corpus Christi, Texas native has appeared in 72 games this season for the Diamondbacks, 53-55 and third in the National League West.

Primarily a shortstop, but able to play at second and third base, as well, Pennington is batting .237 with one home run and 10 runs batted in with an OPS of .595 in 72 games this season.

His best offensive season came in 2011 with the Oakland Athletics when he drove in 58 runs.

Pennington has committed six errors this season.

Lugo, 20, played at high-A ball Dunedin this year.

SB Nation's Chris Cotillo reported the trade first.
