The Toronto Blue Jays claimed infielder Jimmy Paredes off waivers from the Baltimore Orioles on Monday.

The 27-year-old hit .275 with 10 home runs and 42 RBIs over 104 games in 2015 with the Orioles.

Paredes sprained his left wrist during a spring training game this year and was placed on waivers on May 15 after finishing a rehab assignment. The native of the Dominican Republic has not played a Major League game this season.

Paredes has a .257 batting average with 15 homers and 81 RBIs over 249 career games with the Houston Astros, Kansas City Royals and O's.
