The Toronto Blue Jays' odds to win the World Series have vastly improved.

According to odds-makers Bodog.ca, the Jays are now the favourites to win the 2015 World Series, with four-to-one odds in rankings released Thursday.

The Blue Jays enter Thursday's matinee against the Oakland Athletics riding a 10-game winning streak and have won 13 of 14 games since acquiring shortstop Troy Tulowitzki from the Colorado Rockies.

Toronto took sole possession of first place in the American League East Wednesday night with a 10-3 win over the A's, coupled with a 2-1 New York Yankees loss to the Cleveland Indians.

The Jays were one of the busiest teams in the Majors at the July 31 trade deadline, acquiring Tulowitzki and reliever LaTroy Hawkins from Colorado, ace starter David Price from the Detroit Tigers, reliever Mark Lowe from the Seattle Mariners and outfielder Ben Revere from the Philadelphia Phillies.

At the time of the Tulowitzki trade (July 28), the Jays were seven games back of the East-leading Yankees and three behind the second American League wild card berth.

The Kansas City Royals own the second-best World Series odds, with a five-to-one line, followed by the Los Angeles Dodgers and St. Louis Cardinals, who are both at eight-to-one. The Yankees were placed at 12-to-one, level with the AL West-leading Houston Astros at sixth-best in MLB.
