TORONTO - Toronto Blue Jays manager John Gibbons was ejected from Friday night's game against the Baltimore Orioles after arguing with home-plate umpire C.B. Bucknor.

Blue Jays outfielder Jose Bautista was grazed by a pitch from Orioles starter Mike Wright in the first inning, and Bucknor issued warnings to both dugouts. Gibbons came out to talk with Bucknor and was tossed from the game a few seconds later.

Bautista was not hurt and later came around to score on an double by Edwin Encarnacion. It was Gibbons' second ejection of the season.

Bench coach DeMarlo Hale took over managerial duties until his ejection in the eighth inning. Bucknor tossed Hale and pitcher Roberto Osuna after the right-hander hit Adam Jones with a pitch.

Steve Delabar replaced Osuna on the mound. First base coach Tim Leiper took over as acting manager.

The rivalry between the American League East teams has picked up this season.

The Orioles have thrown behind Bautista on two occasions in previous games and both times he responded with home runs. Jones criticized Bautista for taking his time rounding the bases during a game last April.
