The Toronto Blue Jays got some good news Tuesday as the team activated outfielder Kevin Pillar from the disabled list. They also optioned right-handed relief pitcher Ryan Tepera to the minors.

Toronto opens a series against the Los Angeles Angles Tuesday at Rogers Centre. Pillar will hit seventh and play centre.

The 27-year-old has been out since Aug. 8 after straining his left thumb during a slide into second base. The centrefielder is hitting .261 with seven home runs and 45 RBIs over 109 games this season, his second full season in the majors. 

Jose Bautista, who's out with a knee injury, is expected to be in the lineup in the near future as well as he's slated to come off the DL on Thursday.
