Jays' Pillar placed on DL, Ceciliani recalled
The Toronto Blue Jays have placed outfielder Kevin Pillar on the 15-day DL with a left thumb sprain. The team has called up outfielder Darrell Ceciliani from the Buffalo Bisons in Triple A.

TORONTO — The Toronto Blue Jays placed outfielder Kevin Pillar on the 15-day disabled list Monday with a left thumb sprain.
Toronto also recalled outfielder Darrell Ceciliani from Triple-A Buffalo.
Pillar, 27, has appeared in 109 games this season, hitting .261 with 36 extra base hits, including seven home runs. He also has 45 runs-batted in.
Ceciliani is hitting .268 with Buffalo with nine homers and 32 RBIs.
