For the first time in 10 months, Devon Travis will participate in a professional baseball game.

The Toronto Blue Jays second baseman announced he will be back in action with Single-A Dunedin on Friday, marking his return from shoulder surgery in November 2015.

Travis missed most of last season, including the Blue Jays run to the American League Championship Series, with the shoulder injury suffered from a line drive to the left collarbone in a game against the Cleveland Indians in late April.

The 24-year-old didn’t miss any games initially, but his performance suffered over the next 14 contests until the Jays decided to put him on the disable list. He missed 36 games before returning for another 26. On July 28, Travis re-injured the shoulder and was shut down for the year.

Travis hit .304 in 62 games with 66 hits, 18 doubles, eight home runs and 35 runs batted in. He had an on-base percentage of .361 to go along with .498 slugging percentage and a .859 OPS.
