The Winnipeg Jets will play the first of four straight pre-season games against Canadian opposition when they tangle with the Edmonton Oilers tonight at Rexall Place. This is the second pre-season meeting between the teams, as the Oilers claimed a 3-2 victory in Winnipeg.

Viewers in the Jets region can watch the action live on TSN3 at 8pm ct, and the game can also be heard on TSN Radio 1290 Winnipeg.

Viktor Fasth will be between the pipes for the Oilers, who will also feature Tyler Pitlick on their top line with Taylor Hall and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins.

Goaltenders Danny Taylor and Michael Hutchinson will travel to Edmonton for the Jets, while both Mark Stuart and Jacob Trouba will be in the Winnipeg lineup.

In their first pre-season meeting at MTS Centre, Nugent-Hopkins, Bogdan Yakimov and Justin Schultz all scored second period goals for the Oilers as they earned a come-from-behind, 3-2 victory over the Jets.

TJ Galiardi had given the Jets a first period lead and Matt Halischuk doubled the advantage before the Oilers scored three to capture the contest.

The Jets enter Monday's game having dropped two in a row, as after the loss to the Oilers they were beaten 4-3 by the Minnesota Wild on Saturday. In that contest, Wild defenceman Jared Spurgeon scored the winner on the power-play with under five minutes left in regulation.

Ondrej Pavelec started for the Jets against the Wild and surrendered four goals on 28 shots.

The Oilers also enter the contest coming off a loss as they were defeated 5-0 by the Chicago Blackhawks on Sunday.

Captain Andrew Ference left with a right arm injury and did not return to action, however following the game Oilers head coach Dallas Eakins said that x-rays were negative and that "he'll be fine."

Following this contest, the Jets will face the Ottawa Senators and the Calgary Flames twice to close out their pre-season schedule.
