Turin, Italy (SportsNetwork.com) - Juventus took another major step toward the Serie A title on Saturday by edging second-place Lazio in a 2-0 victory at Juventus Stadium.

The hosts struck twice in the span of 11 first-half minutes, beginning with Carlos Tevez finding the back of the net in the 17th minute with his league-leading 18th goal of the campaign.

Leonardo Bonucci doubled the advantage in the 28th minute to put the result beyond reach for the Romans, who saw Danilo Cataldi sent off in the closing stages to cap a miserable outing.

Juventus, on 73 points for the season with seven matches remaining, needs just eight points to be sure of the title.

Also in Saturday's Serie A slate, Sampdoria was held to a 0-0 draw at home by lowly Cesena.
