ORLANDO, Fla. - Kaka scored off his own penalty-kick rebound in the 30th minute and Orlando City SC topped the Eastern Conference-leading D.C. United 1-0 on Sunday night.

United goalkeeper Bill Hamid made a diving save when Kaka went low and left with his penalty kick. But Hamid blocked it back squarely and was out of position as Kaka punched home the header for his seventh goal of the season.

"That was lucky because the bounce came back for me," Kaka said. "I was telling my teammates I don't want to score penalty goals anymore."

Pedro Ribeiro drew the penalty kick when United defender Taylor Kemp made a careless challenge near the edge of the box.

Orlando City (5-5-5) moved into third place in the Eastern Conference and stretched their unbeaten streak to five. United (8-5-4) retained a four-point lead atop the conference despite losing their second in a row.

"I'm really pleased with the guys," Orlando City coach Adrian Heath said. "We want to keep this thing rolling ... and that is a team that is traditionally near the top of MLS so it's going to build our confidence."

Hydration breaks were implemented for the first time in MLS history. The delays are mandated for the 30th and 75th minutes when the temperature reaches 89.6 degrees Fahrenheit or higher.
