Ottawa Senators defenceman Erik Karlsson told ESPN.com after his team's 3-2 overtime win over the Boston Bruins that he's been playing with two hairline fractures in his left foot, suffered blocking a shot late last month.

The Senators advanced to the second round of the Stanley Cup playoffs with their win, beating the Bruins 4-2 in their first round series.

Karlsson told ESPN he's been playing with the help of injections and added it should be back to normal by Thursday, when the Senators open their second round series against the New York Rangers.

Karlsson hasn't missed any games for the Senators this postseason, and has six assists in six games through the first round.
