The Boston Bruins have struggled down the stretch and missed the playoffs in each of the previous three seasons.

The Bruins have dropped their past three games, but Torey Krug is promising there won’t be a three-peat of collapses.

“I haven’t thought about it," Krug told CSN New England, "I haven’t talked about it. It’s a different feeling this year. (A collapse) is not going to happen this year. I know we’ve got a lot of pride in this room.

“The guys that have been through it. There’s no other option except making sure we stay on course and take care and do our jobs. You feel like you played pretty well and things didn’t go your way. You make a big mistake and it cost you.

“You got to realize what’s done is done, and we have an important task on Thursday (against the Tampa Bay Lightning). We’ve got to come to the rink with no other option except winning that game. That’s the mindset we’ve got to have.”

The Bruins have been jumped the Toronto Maple Leafs for third place in the Atlantic Division and now own just a two-point lead over the Islanders for the final wild-card spot – though New York has a game in hand.

The Bruins lost nine of their final 14 games in the 2014-15 season and lost nine of their final 12 games last season.

Boston will visit the Islanders on Saturday night, in a key matchup in the playoff race.
