ST. PAUL, Minn. - The Calgary Roughnecks used a dominant fourth quarter to beat the Minnesota Swarm 13-10 on Saturday night.
With the win and a loss by San Jose earlier in the day, Calgary (9-3) became the first team to clinch a berth in the NLL playoffs.
Trailing 8-7 entering the fourth quarter, Calgary took over, outscoring Minnesota 6-2. Curt Malawsky and Kaleb Toth each scored twice as Calgary opened the frame with five consecutive goals to seize control of the game.
Dane Dobbie led the Calgary offence with four goals and two assists. Toth scored two goals and tallied five assists.
Minnesota was led by Aaron Wilson's three goals and four assists. Kevin Buchanan scored three goals and added three assists. Minnesota fell to 5-7, but maintained fourth place in the West Division, one game ahead of San Jose (4-8).
