NEW YORK -- Mike Poulin of the Calgary Roughnecks has been named the National Lacrosse League's goaltender of the year.

Poulin ranked second with a 10.27 goals-against average and was tied for second with 10 wins.

The Roughnecks meanwhile allowed a league-low 170 goals while finishing first overall at 12-4.

"Mike is a young, athletic goalie and an integral part of our team," Calgary general manager Mike Board said in a statement. "He is a leader on and off the floor and a mentor to his teammates."

Calgary's season ended Saturday after an upset loss to Edmonton in the West semifinal.

Aaron Bold of the Rush finished second in voting while Chris Levis of the Colorado Mammoth was third.
