EDMONTON -- The Edmonton Rush are bringing back general manager and head coach Derek Keenan.

The National Lacrosse League team signed Keenan to a one-year contract Wednesday. Keenan, who is entering his fourth year with the Rush as both coach and GM, led Edmonton to an appearance in the 2012 NLL final, where they lost 9-6 to the Rochester Knighthawks.

"Coach Keenan's dedication, work ethic and preparation to the team is the staple for the structure we need in order to return to the championship in 2013," Rush owner Bruce Urban said in a statement.

The Rush made a run at the title last season despite starting with a 2-7 record.

"There is really no other place I want to be. Edmonton is a top notch sports city and I think we are on the verge of augmenting the 'City of Champions' moniker," Keenan said.

Keenan will be one of the eight new members to be inducted into the Canadian Lacrosse Hall of Fame in November.
