Stealth fall to Mammoth in Vancouver NLL debut

DENVER - Adam Jones scored a pair of goals within a minute in the fourth quarter to lift the Colorado Mammoth past the Vancouver Stealth 13-12 in National Lacrosse League play Saturday.

Jones finished the game with three goals and an assists for Colorado in the season opener for both teams.

Sean Pollock and Drew Westervelt also had hat tricks for the Mammoth, with Cameron Holding, John Grant Jr., Dan Coates and Bob Snider adding singles.

Rhys Duch led the Stealth with a four-goal game and two assists, while Alex Gajic topped all scorers with a goal and seven assists.

Tyler Digby added three goals and three assists for Vancouver, with Cliff Smith scoring a pair and Cody Bremner and Lewis Ratcliff scoring a goal apiece.

Mammoth goalie Tye Belanger was pulled after allowing four goals on 13 shots. Dillon Ward took over and finished with 30 saves.

Tyler Richards meanwhile turned aside 34 shots.
