Andrew Ladd has signed a seven-year, $38.5 million contract with the New York Islanders.

Ladd scored 25 goals and tallied 46 points in 78 games with the Chicago Blackhawks and Winnipeg Jets this past season.

Ladd was traded to the Blackhawks days before the 2016 deadline and had just one goal and one assists in seven-game opening-round loss to the St. Louis Blues in the Western Conference playoffs.

The 30-year-old winger, who has crossed the 20-goal mark in each of the past four non-lockout seasons, is coming off a five-year, $22-million deal signed in in 2011.

The Maple Ridge, B.C. native has scored 210 goals and 466 points in 769 games during his NHL career and has been a part of two Stanley Cup winning teams - the 2006 Hurricanes and the 2010 Blackhawks.
