Canadian Chad Laprise has been forced out of UFC 206 with an injury and his opponent Li Jingliang will be moved to another card, the promotion announced on Wednesday.

Laprise was looking to build on his victory over Thibault Gouti at the UFC on Fox card in Vancouver in August.  That victory snapped a two fight losing streak for the Chatham native.

The 30-year-old has appeared on many previous Canadian cards including stops in Saskatoon, Halifax, Quebec City and UFC 186 in Montreal where he won Fight of The Night honours.

Laprise defeated fellow Canadian Olivier Aubin-Mercier to win TUF Nations in 2014.

UFC 206 will be headlined by a light heavyweight title fight between Daniel Cormier and Anthony Johnson.
