TORONTO - The Toronto Maple Leafs signed defencemen Travis Dermott to a three-year entry-level contract on Wednesday.

Dermott, 18, was drafted by the Maple Leafs in the second round (34th overall) of the 2015 draft.

The Newmarket, Ont., native collected 45 points including eight goals in 61 regular-season games with the Erie Otters of the Ontario Hockey League last season. He also led all OHL defencemen in playoff points with 17 in 20 games.

Dermott was one of 13 defencemen selected to participate in Canada's junior team summer development camp, which will be held in Calgary beginning July 29.
