Vancouver Canucks president Trevor Linden sent a letter to the team's season-ticket holders on Wednesday preaching patience as the team continues to rebuild.

The Canucks are expected to be sellers at the trade deadline later this month and Linden said the team would be looking to add prospects to a pool which already includes Elias Pettersson, Olli Juolevi and Thatcher Demko

"Moving forward, the next several months will be important as we add even more prospects to our pool and build on the positive steps we have seen this year," Linden wrote. "We still need to be patient, but I am excited about our journey ahead together."

He singled out the strong play of rookie Brock Boeser and centre Bo Horvat this season as reasons for optimism and said he is grateful to Daniel and Henrik Sedin for the leadership they have provided.

Linden said the Canucks goal remains unchanged: "to build a young, fast exciting Canucks team that competes every night and ultimately has a chance to bring the Stanley Cup to Vancouver."

The Canucks (22-28-6) host the Florida Panthers on Wednesday night.
