The BC Lions have assured that two familiar faces will remain in their lineup, as they have agreed to a contract extension with defensive back Ryan Phillips and announced kicker Paul McCallum will return for the 2015 season.

The extension with Phillips runs through the 2016 season.

"Both Paul and Ryan remain integral parts of our team as they continue to perform at a high level on the field and play a vital role as respected leaders in the dressing room," said general manager Wally Buono.

Phillips has been a member of the Lions since 2005 and holds the league's longest active appearance streak at 180 consecutive games.  He had 39 tackles and a team leading three interceptions last season.

McCallum has played in 325 regular season games, including 151 as a member of the Lions and is only the second player in professional football to reach the 3,000 point mark.

The 45-year-old converted 38 of 42 field goal attempts for the league leading 90.5% success rate.
