The BC Lions have signed national offensive lineman David Foucault to a contract through the 2019 season.

The Lions acquired Foucault alongside international offensive lineman Vincent Brown from the Montreal Alouettes in the Jovan Olafioye trade.

“Getting David under contract is both a positive and vital first step toward having him compete for a spot on our roster this season,” GM and head coach Wally Buono said in a team release. “A longer term deal, as this one represents, is also a very encouraging sign that David is committed to our organization and we look forward to seeing him later this month at our mini-camp.”

Foucault was drafte fifth overall in 2014 by the Alouettes, but the Montreal Carabins product has never played for the Als. Instead Foucault signed with the NFL's Carolina Panthers, and had been with the team until he was cut prior to last season.

Foucault has one start at the NFL level.
