Evgeni Malkin could took part in his first full-team practice on Friday since March 11 and declared himself a game-time decision for Game 2 of the Pittsburgh Penguins first round series against the New York Rangers.

Malkin, who suffered an upper-body injury against the Columbus Blue Jackets, skated on a line with Conor Sheary and Bryan Rust at practice. He also joined the top power-play unit.

Malkin skated with the team during an optional practice on Thursday.

"It was a good practice today," Malkin said, according to NHL.com. "I'm very happy because coach (Mike Sullivan) let me play power play a little bit too, so I feel more confident right now. It's exciting to play with the team, with the guys. It's the playoffs and it's a short time to come back, but everything feels good. It's tough to say [if I will play Saturday] right now. I can't say too much right now, but it's a game-time decision. So, we'll see tomorrow. … I want to play, you know?"

Sullivan declared goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury a game-time decision for Saturday's contest, along with Rust and Beau Bennett.

The Penguins took Game 1 of the series 5-2 on Wednesday night.
