Anthony Mantha's promising rookie campaign with the Detroit Red Wings appears to be over after fracturing his finger in a fight with Luke Witkowski of the Tampa Bay Lightning Thursday night.

According to TSN's Frank Seravalli, general manager Ken Holland said the injury would likely knock the 22-year-old out for the rest of the season.

The 20th overall pick of the 2013 Draft has 17 goals and 19 assists over 59 games in 2016-17, his first full season in the NHL. Mantha recorded three points over 10 games with the Wings last season.

The Red Wings' streak of 25 straight playoff appearances ended earlier this week with a loss to the Carolina Hurricanes.
