GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The American Hockey League season has come to an end for the Toronto Marlies.

Tom McCollum made 35 saves as the Grand Rapids Griffins eliminated Toronto from the Calder Cup playoffs with a 3-1 win on Sunday.

Grand Rapids trailed the best-of-five first-round series 2-0 but stormed back with three straight wins on home ice to advance to the second round.

Louis-Marc Aubry, Andreas Athanasiou and Alden Hirchfield supplied the offence for the Griffins.

Sam Carrick scored the lone goal for the Marlies, who allowed 13 goals against in their three road losses to Grand Rapids.

Rookie Antoine Bibeau got his first start of the post-season for Toronto and stopped 39-of-42 shots in defeat. Bibeau replaced Christopher Gibson, who started the previous four games of the series.

The Griffins went 0 for 4 on the power play while the Marlies failed to score on two chances with the man advantage.

Grand Rapids will now face the Rockford IceHogs in the Western Conference semifinals.
