Detroit, MI - Torii Hunter scored on J.D. Martinez's sacrifice fly in the bottom of the ninth to lift the Detroit Tigers over the Minnesota Twins, 4-3, in the rubber match of a three-game series on Sunday.

The Twins sent Casey Fien (3-3) to the mound in the ninth. Hunter led off with a single to left, advanced to third when Oswaldo Arcia dropped Victor Martinez's deep fly ball to right and tagged up on J.D. Martinez's sac fly to center.

"It just felt like a good team win. There was no one person that kind of stood out," J.D. Martinez said. "I was the lucky one that got the ball in the outfield."

Detroit pitcher Joe Nathan (3-2) stranded runners on first and second in the top of the ninth to pick up the win against his former club. Rick Porcello got the start and gave up three runs on five hits with three walks over seven innings.

Minnesota starter Ricky Nolasco gave up three runs on nine hits over 5 1/3 innings.

"I threw the ball decent," Nolasco said of his outing. "A couple tough breaks, but tried to keep us there as long as we could."

The Tigers scored one run in each of the first two innings. Ian Kinsler led off the first with a double to left and moved to third when Hunter grounded out. After Miguel Cabrera struck out swinging on a foul tip, Victor Martinez hit a high fly ball to right that Arcia lost in the sun. Kinsler crossed the plate on the double.

Austin Jackson started the second with a triple to left and scored on Nick Castellanos' sacrifice fly.

Porcello, meanwhile, was on cruise control until running into trouble in the sixth. Joe Mauer hit a ground-rule double to left and scored on Josh Willingham's two-out double to left. Kendrys Morales and Kurt Suzuki followed with RBI singles to make it 3-2 Minnesota.

The Tigers tied the game in the bottom half on Castellanos' RBI double to left. Nolasco then loaded the bases before handing the ball over to Jared Burton, who recorded the final two outs of the inning.
