Toronto Maple Leafs head coach Mike Babcock gave an update on Auston Matthews' injury timeline, hintin the star forward could be out for at least 10 days.

"We always tell you day-to-day and that usually means 10 and then we go from there," Babcock told reporters in reference to Matthews' recovery timeline.

Matthews left the Leafs' win over the New York Islanders on Thursday early after a collision with Cal Clutterbuck and Adam Pelech of the Islanders. Matthews went back to the bench gingerly and eventually to the locker room after talking to trainers.

Matthews has missed time twice this season with upper-body injures, the latter of which he admitted was a concussion.

In 53 games this season, the 20-year-old has 28 goals and 22 assists.
