Maybe Zach Mettenberger's surprise cut from the Tennessee Titans wasn't so surprising after all.

Three months after scooping up the backup quarterback from the Titans, the San Diego Chargers waived Mettenberger in their first wave of cuts.

Mettenberger has not played since he went 2-8 for 22 yards and an interception in the first preseason game with the Chargers.
