The 28-year-old will make $12.5 million this season and has a club option for $13 million ($1 million buyout) in 2017. Bruce hit .226 with 26 home runs and 87 RBIs over 157 games with the Reds last season, his eighth with the organization.

Top of the List

Luke Gregerson, 31, was the closer for a surprisingly successful Astros squad last season, but is far from a shutdown man. He pitched 61 innings with a 3.10 ERA and 31 saves, including six blown saves.

Zimmer Time?

Free-agent starting pitcher Jordan Zimmermann is a major target for the Los Angeles Dodgers this offseason.

Zimmermann, 29, pitched 201.2 innings in 2015, posting a 13-10 record with a 3.66 ERA and 164 strikeouts for the disappointing Washington Nationals. With the possibility of the Dodgers losing one of their pitching studs in Zack Greinke, signing Zimmermann might be a priority. If they end up signing the seven-year veteran, the Dodgers would have to give the Nats a draft pick as compensation.
