The MLB free agency period is underway. Teams and players alike are looking to make big splashes during the off-season.

Wildest Dreams?

The Miami Marlins would like to add free-agent closer Kenley Jansen to their bullpen according to a report by Jon Heyman of MLB Network.

Heyman notes that the Marlins could have a geographical advantage in signing the Curacao native but the market would have to break right for them to add the pitcher.

Jansen appeared in 71 games last season for the Los Angeles Dodgers and posted 47 saves and 3-2 record with a 1.83 ERA.

The 29-year-old has spent his entire MLB career with the Dodgers and has a history with Marlins' manager Don Mattingly.

Welcome To New York

The New York Yankees are looking for bullpen arms Yankees managing general partner Hal Steinbrenner said after arriving at the MLB's Owners Meetings.

Aroldis Chapman, who the Yankees dealt to the Cubs in the offseason, is a possibility especially considering a draft pick would have have to change hands.

"Any time you can get a guy who's already proven he can play in New York," said Steinbrenner. "Everybody knows as well as I do that it's a tough place to play, that's a plus."

Blank Cheque Space

Heyman has also released a list of contract guesses for 56 free-agents currently available on the market.

Toronto Blue Jays free-agent Edwin Encarnacion is ranked second on his list with a 4-year/$92 million contract estimation and the Houston Astros, Texas Rangers and Boston Red Sox as possible destinations, along with the Blue Jays.

Heyman lists Jose Bautista ninth on the list at $54 million over three years, though he did not attach any teams.
