With the MLB Trade Deadline quickly approaching (Aug. 1), teams will need to decide if they are going to be buyers or sellers as we head into the final two months of the season. Check out TSN.ca's rumours blog for all you need to know about the MLB Trade Deadline.

Cubs-A's Swap?

According to Jon Morosi of MLB.com, the Chicago Cubs are interested in acquiring Oakland Athletics outfielder Josh Reddick.

The 29-year-old is hitting .301 with six home runs, 23 RBIs and a .380 OBP over 59 games with the Athletics this season, his fifth in Oakland.

Ready To Sell?

After the Minnesota Twins fired general manager Terry Ryan, the last-place club could now become sellers at the non-waiver Trade Deadline, according to ESPN's Buster Olney.

Olney says the Twins have seen increased interest in their assets following Rob Antony taking over interim GM duties earlier this week.

Catcher Kurt Suzuki as well as pitchers Brandon Kintzler, Fernando Abad and Ervin Santana could all be up grabs says Olney.

Suzuki, 32, is hitting .288 with five home runs and 32 RBIs over 65 games this season with the Twins.

Kintzler has 2.20 ERA over 29 appearances while the lefty Abad has posted a 2.73 ERA over 35 relief appearances. Santana, 33, is 3-8 with a 3.93 ERA over 18 starts.

Staying Put?

After a hot start to the season, the Chicago White Sox have fallen out of the playoff race and sit seven games out of an AL Wild Card spot, 10 games behind first in the Central.

With a postseason appearance unlikely, one would think it'd be time to start selling. That may not be the case when it comes to pitchers Chris Sale and José Quintana, according to MLB.com's Jon Morosi.

Fox Sports' Ken Rosenthal is hearing similar things.

White Sox ace Sale, 27, is having another terrific year, posting a 14-3 record with a 3.18 ERA and 129 strikeouts over 19 games this season, his seventh with the team. Sale is a five-time All-Star.

Quintana, 27, is 8-8 with a 3.13 ERA over 19 starts in 2016.

The Dodgers would be interested in adding starting pitching help as ace Clayton Kershaw is out indefinitely with back problems.

Despite the cold water poured on those rumours, Morosi still believes the White Sox will be able to move relief pitcher Zach Duke

No. 1 Priority?

The AL-central leading Cleveland Indians really want to upgrade their bullpen, according to Fox Sports' Ken Rosenthal.

The Indians are 13th in the MLB with a 3.72 bullpen ERA.

Jeff Passan of Yahoo Sports thinks Milwaukee Brewers relievers Jeremy Jeffress and Will Smith could be viable options for the Indians.

ESPN's Buster Olney also reports that Cleveland is in talks with the Brewers in regards to their catcher Jonathan Lucroy.

Yan Gomes, the Indians current everyday catcher, hurt himself earlier this week after a collision at first base.

Lucroy, 30, has a .305 batting average with 12 home runs and 48 RBIs over 86 games this season with the Brewers, his seventh with the club.

Marlins eyeing Hellickson?

For the first time in a long time, the 51-43 Miami Marlins might end up being buyers at the Trade Deadline instead of sellers.

ESPN's Jayson Stark reports the Marlins appear to have some interest in Philadelphia Phillies starter Jeremy Hellickson

Hellickson pitched eight strong innings Wednesday night against Miami, allowing just one run on five hits in a 4-1 victory. He also recorded eight strikeouts.

The 29-year-old is 7-7 with a 3.84 ERA and a 1.16 WHIP over 20 starts with the Phillies in 2016, his first season with the club.

According to Stark, teams interested in Hellickson's services would not have to give up an arm and a leg to acquire him.

Miami holds the second Wild Card spot in the National League and are 5.5 games behind the Washington Nationals for top spot in the NL-east.

Adding Some Depth

Tampa Bay Rays first baseman Steve Pearce is having a solid year for his last place team and Passan believes he could draw some interest from contending teams.

The 33-year-old veteran is hitting an impressive .322 with 10 home runs and 29 RBIs. Pearce has a .393 OBP and a .945 OPS as well.

Pearce, who recently came off the disabled list, is a free-agent at season's end.
